Availability
These products are available for sale in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, as well as selected countries in the rest of the world.

Biopsy pipettes to suit every need – polar body, blastomere or trophectoderm biopsy procedures.

  • Designed to remove polar bodies or blastomeres or trophectoderm cells for genetic analysis
  • Polar body biopsy micropipette options are: flat/polished, beveled/polished, and beveled/spiked
  • Blastomere biopsy pipettes come in 5 sizes and are suitable for removing a single blastomere or a group of trophectoderm cells. ID ranging 18-27µm is advised for blastomeres and trophectoderm.

The flat or beveled heat-polished tips in these micropipettes help to facilitate the removal of a single blastomere or group of trophectoderm cells.

The long parallel taper of these micropipettes provides smooth effortless fluid control during micromanipulation.1

All our ORIGIO micropipettes are packaged in a transparent compact box of 10.

  • Takes less shelf space
  • Allows for a very quick overview of how many pipettes are left
  • Tip protector included in each micropipette tube

Please watch the video if you would like to see how easy it is to take an ORIGIO micropipette out of its packaging.

All our TPC micropipettes are packaged in a recyclable cardboard box of 10. CooperSurgical encourages all clinics to recycle when possible.

Pipettes are individually packaged and gamma sterilized for optimum sterility. For easy identification, pipettes are packed in color-coded protective holders. Outer labels are also color-coded.

Choosing the right biopsy micropipette depends on a variety of factors, including the stage at which you are performing biopsy, the size and quality of the embryos, and the preferences of the embryologist or fertility specialist. It is important to work with a trusted supplier of fertility equipment and consult with an expert in the field to determine the best micropipette for your specific needs.

Micropipettes that are designed specifically for assisted reproduction techniques and undergo rigorous quality control measures can help improve the success rates of IVF and other fertility treatments, leading to better outcomes for patients.

The ESHRE PGT Consortium recommends to change the biopsy pipette for each embryo/oocyte to avoid cross-contamination.2

It is the same as for any micropipette used for aspiration, such as ICSI pipettes.

All our pipettes should be stored at room temperature, in the original unopened packaging, away from contamination, moisture and direct heat.

Biopsy pipettes are available depending on personal preference. Flat biopsy pipettes are the most popular for extracting cells.

Smaller biopsy pipettes such as the 14 micron is ideal for this. Usually Polar Body Biopsies are performed with a spiked pipette but if the procedure is laser-assisted then a flat end is equally suitable.

There are a few different techniques and preferences out there. But the good news is, we can supply any type of pipet that matches their preference. Most commonly people will use flat and polished pipettes:
MBB-FP-SM-(angle) – flat & polished, 30µm I.D.
MBB-FP-XS-(angle) – flat & polished, 25µm I.D.
MBB-FP-XXS-(angle) – flat & polished, 20µm I.D.
The important thing to note about the size options for trophectoderm pipette, is that smaller ID pipettes tend to give more fine suction control. This may be beneficial when trying to aspirate as few trophectoderm cells as possible.
